Highland Perthshire
Perthshire is one of the largest areas in Scotland – in fact it has often simply been called the ‘Big County’. Named for the ancient city of Perth, Perthshire spans the boundary between Highlands in the north and Lowlands in the south, with the swift flowing River Tay at its heart.
Highland Perthshire is a particularly picturesque area of the Scotland. With elegant peaks, steep-sided glens, roaring waterfalls and winding rivers. The area is especially famous for the beauty of its autumnal colours, as broadleaf woods meet conifer forests on the slopes of the mountains.
Historic and charming stone-built towns line the riverbanks, offering local culture and amenities including many great pubs and restaurants. The proximity to the bigger cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, and of course Perth itself, make the area easily accessible for a short visit.

Scotland’s Ancient Heart
In Highland Perthshire is you will find Scotland’s longest glen; Scotland’s longest river; Scotland’s tenth highest mountain; and Scotland’s oldest tree. Scotland’s first kings were crowned here on a hill of earth said to be formed from soil brought from across the country in symbolic tribute.
