The Great Glen
Our trip begins in Fort William, the Adventure Capital of the UK, where your guide will meet the group at the train station. We will drive a short distance to the start of our first hike, in the spectacular Glen Nevis. Our hike takes us through an impressive narrow and rocky gorge to the lush Steall Meadows, where we will enjoy views of one of Scotland’s highest waterfalls as it cascades down the mountainside. Afterwards, we will enjoy a second short hike in the glen, admiring the impressive Polldubh Falls, before transferring to our accommodation near Loch Ness.
Included meals: Lunch and dinner
On our second day we will enjoy a varied and beautiful walk on the south shore of Loch Ness. We start walking through towering conifers over a small hill before arriving in the village of Foyers. Here we will have lunch and admire the roaring Falls of Foyers, before walking downhill to the shore of Loch Ness itself. After a pause on the beach we’ll begin our return to the start point, walking through delightful mixed woodlands. Just before the end we’ll pause at the old ruined pier to admire some final views of the loch.
Included meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Often called Scotland’s most beautiful glen, Glen Affric is truly Mecca for any lover of Scottish forests. With dramatic ‘Munros’ towering on all sides above a glen filled with ancient and regenerating Caledonian Pine Forest, Glen Affric offers some of the best scenery in the Highlands. Your guide will choose a hike that suits the group’s abilities and the weather conditions on the day.
Included meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
On our last day we’ll enjoy a gentle walk for our final outing together.
Starting from the beautiful double waterfall of Eas a Chia-Aig, we’ll stroll along the wooded shores of Loch Arkaig to the bothy at Invermallie, where your guide will tell you the local legend of lost Jacobite Gold. We return the same way, and then head back to Fort William to return to the train station.
